Season 2 of Freeform's mermaid mystery-thriller series, Siren was renewed on May 15, 2018.[1] It premiered on January 24, 2019, on Thursday night, 8 pm.[2]
After a two-month hiatus, the last eight episodes aired on June 13, 2019 and the second season finale concluded on August 1, 2019.

Synopsis[]
More mermaids will arrive in the once-sleepy fishing town in Season 2 — but are they seeking revenge, or is something more catastrophic driving them out of the sea? Marine researchers Ben (Alex Roe) and Maddie (Fola Evans-Akingbola) continue to establish a bond with mermaid Ryn (Eline Powell), not only to protect her but to try to help save her entire civilization. Ian Verdun and Rena Owen also star.[3]
Season 2B picks up with Ben and Maddie feeling uncertain about the mermaids’ future after the deadly consequences of the attack on the oil rig. With the mermaids returning to sea, Ben and Maddie are left feeling lost without Ryn. Once Helen learns she’s not the only one of her kind, she discovers theirs a dark side to her people’s past.[4]

- Filming for Season 2 began on July 26, 2018 and ended on March 15, 2019.[5]
- At San Diego Comic Con 2018, it was stated that Season 2 would further explore the Siren Song and how it impacts male human characters. At the same panel, it was revealed that more mermaids and mermen are set to appear in Season 2.[6]
