The Toll of the Sea is the tenth episode and Season Finale of the third season of Siren. It aired on May 28, 2020. [2] It later turned out to be the series finale after Freeform canceled the series. [3]
In an effort to save Hope, Ryn and Ben confront Tia in an undersea battle between the mermaid tribes. Maddie and Robb work to find a cure for Xander, while Helen and the hybrids help restore order. Ted struggles to accept Ben's reality.[4]

Robb returns to Bristol Cove and meets with Maddie, giving her a flash drive containing an audio file of his tribe's echo chamber.
Sylvia, the Pownell's housekeeper, had fallen victim to the Siren Song.
Commander Anderson acknowledges they don't need the President tweeting about the true nature of the situation, this is a reference to Trump's conflict with Twitter regarding an executive order he made. This episode's air date coincides with that event.
Tia's song has spread to Seattle and Portland, and Tia has made a live broadcast to many countries in many different languages. Tia's goal is to kill a few thousand humans, and allow the rest to turn against each other.
It is revealed that Tia was pregnant with a child at the time she was captured by the Russian government, and that they took it away from her. This explains one of the many reasons for Tia's hatred and distrust towards humans.
In the undersea battle, Yura and his tribe join the battle.
Tia is finally slain by Ryn, she pierces two spears to her chest, her body sinks down into the ocean.
Ben rescues Hope from the plane wreckage she was being held prisoner in, he fires his speargun at one of Tia's warriors. The other two swim after him as Hope swims to the surface.
It is unknown if he is survived the encounter with Tia's mermaids.
Ted finally understands that he was wrong to perceive the Merfolk as a threat, due to seeing how the hybrids are treating the affected victims in the warehouse of his fishery. He does not find Ben anywhere.
Hunter is last seen taken away by the military.
Dale did pass away from the Siren Song's affects, his body is covered in a large white tarp. Maddie stands in front of his grave holding his badge.
Xander recovers from Tia's song, and later graduates from the police academy becoming the new sheriff.
Robb and Maddie depart Bristol Cove, she bids farewell to Ryn, Helen and Hope.
Robb's team will be begin working on the oceanic cleanup project. Him and Maddie will take a layover flight to Tokyo and then a connecting flight to Manila in the The Philippines. From there, a research boat will pick them up to take them to the garbage gyre cleanup site located in the South Pacific. In the next few months, the cleanup process will begin in other regions of the five oceans.
If the project succeeds, then the ocean's waters will be purified. The Merfolk will be able to procreate and repopulate again.
In the episode's last few moments, a fantasy is projected. Ben, Ryn, and Hope are living together as a happy family.
Ben's body was seen underwater moving towards a bright light. His whereabouts are unknown but it is possible that this bright light could be another echo chamber belonging to another mermaid tribe.
Ryn lays on a rock off the coast of Bristol Cove looking out into the sea. She will be waiting for Ben's return, because she knows that he is still alive out in the ocean.
