Synopsis[]
Ryn decides they need to find another solution for housing the mermaids, as hiding them becomes increasingly difficult. Ben becomes a mentor to Levi as he tries to learn how men behave on land, while Maddie continues to struggle with her mother’s renewed presence in her life.[2]

- The title is a reference to the oil rig, which has been the cause of the hypersonic waves that had forced out several merfolk.
- Levi learns a lot about what humans do on land. He learns about television, etiquette, dancing, and when not to fight.
- Maddie's mother is visited by her dealer Glenn, it is clear that she is under the influence of drugs.
- Ryn and Ben slow dance for the first time in this episode.
- Ryn takes Cami her to late mother's grave, revealing that humans were the cause of her mother's demise but unintentionally.
