Alex Roe is an English film and television actor. He portrays Ben Pownall in Freeform's TV series, Siren.


He was born in Westminster, London, but grew up in Ladbroke Grove with his father as a plumber, his mother a ballet teach and his grandfather a boxer. His talent for sport, married with the fact he’d had some success as a child actor, that won him a sixth-form scholarship to Latymer Upper School in Hammersmith. He later moved to Los Angeles.[1]

  • He doesn't want to be famous, but rather likes acting as it's fun.[1]
  • He is also a football player.
  • One of the big reasons he signed onto the project was that he loved the “Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides” feel to these mermaids.[2]
  • For the show, Alex received some extensive breath training and can actually hold his breath for 4 minutes.[2]
